The Gun Control Act of !958 was signed into law on 10/22/1969 by President Lyndon B. Johnson.1 It established a list of prohibited persons from owning firearms or an infringement upon prohibited persons from owning firearms.
The 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution admonishes the U.S. Government not to infringe upon the right of the people to keep and bear Arms.2 This bill was overtly unconstitutional and clearly betrays the oath taken to defend the Constitution by all those who voted yay or signed it into law. President Lyndon B. Johnson signed this bill into law.
