The Curious Dependency of Hasidic Jews

In this episode, we discuss a few viral documentary style YouTube videos by Tyler Oliveira about "welfare addicted" Hasidic Jews in the U.S. Though they do use welfare programs plentifully, his claims don't seem to hold weight as there are Hasidic Jewish billionaires who seem to play plenty in taxes to replenish the relatively small amount of government assistance that most of the Hasidic community is using. Where this gets interesting is when you take these principals and apply them to Israel. 73% of Israelis are Jewish, 22-23% of the population is religiously Jewish, and 13.6% of the population are Hasidic Jews. Also bear in mind, that Hasidic Jews are anti-Israel and anti-Zionism. Why is Israel supporting this many people who hate them with welfare-like programs? When you look over those percentages again, you see the if the Hasidic Jews left Israel then Israel would lose their already tenuous claim to being a "Jewish state" therefore they have to give welfare to this group of people who hate them. This is a very interesting dynamic that we haven't seen anyone else talk about.
