As we all know, Zohran Mamdani is now the Mayor-elect of New York City. As an immigrant, a socialist, and a Muslim, progressives are touting this as a major win and conservatives are looking to London and seeing this as a catastrophic loss, even for a New York City mayoral election. Jack presents the idea that with Andrew Cuomo being the establishment candidate, the System is the biggest loser of this election. He points to examples such as the Squad member Jamaal Bowman being ousted from the house by AIPAC in the most expensive House election in history. There is a history of members of the DSA (communists) working with Freedom Caucus members to advance anti-establishment legislation which would actually help the American people such as the bill which was co-sponsored by AOC and Anna-Paulina Luna which would cap credit card interest rates at 10%. Even if you argue that the System would never let such a bill pass, Jack points to Jimmy Dore's Force the Vote movement which would expose people who vote against such a bill or even shut it down from getting to the floor. It's an interesting idea, that small minorities with completely opposing political ideologies could be temporary allies in an effort to weaken the power of the duopoly.
